Three juveniles, ages 13 to 16, were shot with an automatic rifle as they stood outside in Chatham early Tuesday morning.
A 16-year-old girl and two boys, aged 14 and 13, reported to Chicago police that a gunman opened fire on them from a red SUV in the 7900 block of South Maryland at 12:23 a.m., according to officials.
A cop on patrol heard the shots and said they sounded like automatic firing. Investigators discovered rifle casings along the street.
According to police, the girl and the 13-year-old were shot in the foot, while the 14-year-old boy was hit in the ankle. All were in excellent condition at Comer Children’s Hospital, according to a CPD statement.
